BistroSquare was founded by Richie Ward and Andrew Kurz. It was intended to bring a restaurant website builder to the internet. The application wanted to go even further by enabling users with little to no design experience to create elegant, appealing and functional websites that look professional.
BistroSquare is much like existing website builder sites, however it caters to a very specific group: those in the food service industry. This specialization makes it very appealing for restaurant and café owners. The built in features allow business owners to add coupons, menus, driving directions and other vital elements to their websites. BistroSquare can give food service businesses a budget friendly way to add convenience to their customer’s experience.
The BistroSquare website uses a fun blue and red color scheme highlighted by hints of green. The homepage features a wide banner with a couple happily toasting at a bistro table under an umbrella. The upper, right hand corner presents the user with navigation tabs to help them find various areas on the website. The website builder tools are very easy to use and intended for users of all skill levels.
A new user can sign up for a BistroSquare membership by clicking the green and white “Build it Now Free” button found near the center of the homepage (to the left of the happy couple). The following page asks the user to select their desired plan. Next, the user is asked to provide their desired BistroSquare URL. The user can choose their billing cycle and any add ons they might want to include, such as a custom design or full maintenance. The registration form asks the user for a first and last name, address, company name, email address, city, state, zip code, country, password and phone number. The user can also choose between Paypal, credit card or a mail in payment.
BistroSquare offers users four membership options. The first is a free account which includes up to 20 MBs of disc space, 100 MB transfer limit and advertisements. The user can add a domain name to this package for around $20 per year. The Starter plan costs around $30 per month and upgrades to include 5 GBs of disc space, 50 GB transfer limit, domain name and up to 100 email accounts. The Deluxe plan costs around $40 per month and includes 35 GB of disc space, 100 GB transfer limit and unlimited email accounts. The Premium membership costs around $50 per month and includes up to 75 GB disc space and 50 GB transfer limit.
BistroSquare is a helpful resource for anyone who owns a food service business. It is especially appealing to smaller businesses that may not have the resources to pay for a professionally designed website.
